How the ticket system works...

IF YOU HAVE NEVER BOOKED BEFORE THEN THE INFORMATION BELOW MAY HELP YOU UNDERSTAND HOW THE SYSTEM "WORKS"

PLEASE DO NOT BOOK OR CHANGE A BOOKING BY E-MAIL

You never pay for a ticket off the web site.

You only pay IN CASH on entry to the venue

First and foremost welcome to Tropic. You will find that the customers are a friendly bunch - it is just such a shame about the staff.....

SO....BOOKING A TICKET.....

You do NOT need to be a "member" to come to gigs although you MUST provide us with an address the first time you book to keep with the "rules" of the club.

To reserve your tickets ahead of the gig, and thus guarantee you get in should it sell out, AND get any discount that might be applicable (most nights this is £2 off the door price) you complete the longer form the very first time you book, and thereafter you can complete the shorter form where details of how to find the shorter form on the web site will be shown in the confirmation page you see after you book and confirmed back to you by e-mail.

So, having completed the form, you click "Submit" and provided you have completed the e-mail address section correctly you will get an e-mail later confirming your request has been received.

These confirmations are sent by a human being so can take a little while to come in, but don't worry, it will come provided you have put in a valid e-mail address.

Your pre-book "ticket" is not really a ticket

We just collate a list on the door under surnames and if your name is on it you and your party get in at the pre-book rate, where everyone pays cash on the door, this saves you money on booking fees etc. and you are guaranteed admission in the event of a sell out. However, please regard any booking as firm and adjust/cancel etc. as if it was a ticket. Please note there is no cash machine at or near the venue.

Below is a copy of the page you will get directed to after your booking, your actual booking will be manually acknowledged almost certainly on the day you make it.

If you book on the day of the gig itself acknowledgments can be a little hit and miss but should have been sent by 6.30 pm.

-----------------Below is a general copy on the words on the confirmation page----------------------------

PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY

The fact that you are reading this means that your request for a ticket(s) is whizzing it's way to the Tropic' office, thanks for booking.

THIS IS AN AUTOMATED PAGE, IT IS NOT A TICKET NOR DOES IT CONFIRM OUR ACCEPTANCE OF A BOOKING BY YOU. IT MERELY CONFIRMS WE HAVE YOUR REQUEST.

As you have used the long booking form the assumption is made that you have either never BOOKED before or actually never come before, so below is all the information you should need, and a few links to help you out. If you spend 30 seconds reading this now you may well save yourself hours of time if you book again!!

TIMINGS:

Nearly all Friday and Saturday gigs start with band on stage at 9.30. Double headers and gigs where we have a support may start earlier. YOU ARE ADVISED TO BE AT THE VENUE BY 8.30pm, 09.00 LATEST.

For SUNDAY gigs we open the doors at 7.30 pm (ish) and for the music it is 8.15 to 10.30, certainly no later than 11.00.

Any variations to this will be on the web site and apparent at the time you booked.

In the event that the gig is sold out we reserve the right to release your ticket to anyone waiting for returns at 9.30 and in this case you may well NOT be allowed in.

PAYMENT:

Please note you must pay IN CASH on arrival to get gain admission to the music room but the bar may take card payments for drinks.

A manual response will be sent to you in due course by e-mail confirming your ticket (and thus admission), which will simply be the booking details returned to you, these are sent daily normally. If you get the manual one twice, do not worry, the "system" sometimes glitches. The manual response is your ticket and acceptance of your booking.

You might like to print the manual response or keep a copy on your phone, just in case for some reason we do not have your reservation at the door. When you arrive at the door just give the surname the booking has been made in to the person with the list.

To change your booking please use the "Change Ticket" button/form on the web site. NEVER JUST SEND AN E-MAIL TO BOOK TICKETS OR CHANGE A BOOKING as we may not see it.

NOW I note that you have used booking for "new" customers.

I NOW WANT TO LET YOU IN TO A SECRET THAT WILL SAVE YOU LOTS OF TIME.

I now have all the important details about you I need for my file, so you can, for future bookings fill out a much shorter form hidden on the web site just for my regular customers. (Information about how to find this will be sent to you after you actually book.)

I look forward to seeing you at the up-coming gig you have booked for, your manual response should follow in a day or so. If it does not for any reason please do NOT fill out the form again, complete the "Change a booking" form and in the comments say you never had your booking acknowledged.

Finally, if you have provided a telephone number great, but if not can you let me have one next time you book, I do not use them for marketing I promise, but they are handy to have.
